The 2025 Australian Open delivered two thrilling weeks of bowls action — and Team Henselite made its mark once again, with standout performances across every level of competition. From national champions to rising stars, each bowler showed poise, precision, and passion, with their bowl of choice, the Dreamline XG.
NSW’s Dawn Hayman led the charge, claiming the Women’s Singles title with a commanding win on the first finals day at Broadbeach BC. After finishing runner-up in 2022, and beaten in the semi-final in 2024, she returned determined and composed, finishing strongly to secure the title she had long been chasing. Her consistent efforts across multiple events also earned her the title of Player of the Tournament.
“My Dreamline XGs were awesome. No matter if it was carpet or grass, they were comfortable in my hand and gave me the confidence to play all the shots I needed to win,” she said.
Dawn’s opponent in the final was Henselite Teammate and Emerging Jackaroo, Olivia Cartwright, who collected her second medal of the day, having won a silver medal earlier in the Women’s Fours.
It was a welcome return to the AO stage for Nathan Wilson, who made a brilliant run to the Men’s Singles final after some time away from the event. The 2014 champion showed precision and accuracy throughout, reminding everyone why he remains a force in the game.
In the Under-18 Boys Singles, Travis Moran delivered a breakthrough performance, holding his nerve at 19–19 to draw the final two shots and take the win, completing an impressive treble of junior titles.
The Women’s Pairs final was another standout moment, with Selina Goddard securing the title with partner Chloe Stewart, in a gripping tiebreak finish. Facing tough opponents in Malaysian pair Nurul Alyani Jamil and Emma Firyana Saroji (both using XGs), Selina’s composure as lead to hold 3 on the extra end, sealed the 20–16 victory.
Team Henselite also dominated in the Multi-Disability events, with James Reynolds going back-to-back in the Pairs with his partner Chris Flavel, and Damien Delgado defending his Singles title with a confident 21–13 win.
An outstanding performance by Rebecca Van Asch added a sixth AO title for her, with a win in the Women’s Fours, while Adele Pershouse took out the Over-60s Women’s Pairs with her partner Tracy Foster.
Off the green, it was fantastic to see so many Team Henselite players visiting our stand — taking photos, chatting with bowlers, and offering guidance on Henselite gear. Their generosity, professionalism, and love for the game were on show throughout the event.
Congratulations to all our Team Henselite bowlers on a brilliant Australian Open – we can’t wait to see what’s next!
