Team Henselite’s Dawn Hayman has shown again and again why she’s considered one of Australia’s top lawn bowlers. Last week she took out four State titles at the NSW State Lawn Bowls Championships. The impressive list of achievements for the St John’s Park superstar included the mixed pairs with fiancé Thomas Webb, the women’s Pairs with Natasha Russell and Triples with Brianna Smith & Samantha Ferguson as well as the blue ribbon single title which she won after a 25-11 victory over Sarah Boddington. Dawn is the first bowler since 2017 to win 4 state titles.
“I’m so incredibly proud of my achievement to win 4 state titles this week,” she said. “I was super happy to win them with all different club mates in the process. It’s very hard to pick a favourite victory from this week as they were all unique in there own way, but if I was to chose one it would have to be winning the mixed pairs with my fiancé – pretty special.”
For so long a quiet achiever, Dawn has been steadily collecting silverware and gold medals as part of Team Henselite for nearly a decade. “My Dreamline XGs were awesome in all the conditions we had over the week. I new I could trust the line on them all the time which made we feel super confident during the week.”
It has been a great start to the year for Dawn who was also named in the All Star team for the Bowls Premier League in February when we teamed up with Henselite team mate, Alex Marshall and super coach, Ellen Falkner, to make the BPL final with Moreton Bay Pirates.
Dawn will now go on to compete in Platinum Pennant starting up in NSW in the next couple of weeks. “I’m looking forward to getting started with St Johns Park,” she said. “Then focusing on the NSW Champion of Champion Singles in May.”
