There were two weeks of spectacular sport at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham UK, and Lawn Bowls proved to the world what we already knew…that it has just as much drama, energy, and skill as some of it’s more televised counterparts.
Whether it was the Indian women carrying a nation’s hopes for it’s first gold medal in the sport in the fours, Ellen Ryan’s brilliant last bowl in the Gold Medal medal match of the women’s pairs with Kristina Krstic or Aaron Disco Wilson’s shirtless lap of honour after repeating his victory in the singles from 4 years earlier – lawn bowls had all the excitement we had hoped.
Henselite bowlers were among the medals in most disciplines with 14 out of 26 Gold Medals being won with Henselite, and 40 out of 78 total medals.
